Purchased in June 2015, the Sam of Ladram has been a great addition to the Greendale fleet. She is a stable, dry boat, making life more comfortable for those who sail on her. The Sam of Ladram is a volunteer collection vessel for the UK government’s Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science (CEFAS). CEFAS scientists regularly accompany the crew on fishing trips out to sea in order to take samples of fish and sea-life for their research into fish population sizes and water-quality parameters, including algae blooms. This work is an important part of ensuring we can maintain sustainable fisheries for years to come.
