    We use Plaice from our own fishing boats working out of Brixham, Devon. 8oz Plaice fillet is battered and served with tasty Greendale chips. Plaice is much loved for its sweet flavour and tender flesh.

  • Gurnard & Chips

    We use fresh Gurnard from our own fishing boats working out of Brixham, Devon. 8oz Gurnard fillet is battered and served with chunky chips. Gurnard has a firm white flesh and great flavour and is a more sustainable choice of fish.

  • Home-made Fishcake

    These hearty Fishcakes are hand-made at the Greendale Farm Shop, using a mix of our best-quality white and smoked fish. Perfect with chunky chips and home-made Tartare Sauce.

Locally Sourced Fish

From our own fishing boats

At Greendale, we’re only interested in selling the best to our customers. Because we have our own fishing fleet, where possible we can supply our fish and chip counter with regular fresh catches that can be traced directly back to the sea. Operating in accordance with the Seafood Responsible Fishing Scheme, our boats work out Brixham and Newlyn, and catch a variety of fish from Westcountry waters. If we can’t catch it ourselves, we source only from trusted suppliers with standards as high as our own.

Chunky Chips

Made from our own potatoes

We use our own Maris Piper potatoes, regarded as one of the best when it comes to making chips – cooked to provide a crisp exterior while remaining light and fluffy inside. Our potatoes are freshly peeled and prepared in our shop, cooked to perfection and offered with a good sprinkling of salt and vinegar.

Gluten-Free Fish and Chips

First Wednesday of the month

We serve gluten-free fish and chips on the first Wednesday of each month. They are fried in a dedicated gluten-free pan with new clean oil and gluten-free batter. We also use separate utensils to avoid cross contamination. At Greendale, having a gluten free diet doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a Great British classic!

Our Fleet

At Greendale we have our own fishing fleet, which means we can supply our fish counter with regular fresh catches that can be traced directly back to the sea. Our boats work out of Exmouth, Brixham and Newlyn, and catch a variety of fish from Westcountry waters; for example, our potting vessel, Becci of Ladram, keeps us well topped up with a selection of fresh fish and shellfish, while the Emily J, our scallop boat, is based in nearby Exmouth.
