Origins

Life at Godminster is governed by a healthy respect for tradition and an enterprising spirit of innovation. There have been people living and working the land at Godminster, in Bruton, Somerset, for over five centuries - records show that there has been a dairy farm on the site for more than 100 years. Godminster was certified organic in 1999 and, not long after, decided that Cheddar cheese made the best use of its milk. More recently, following careful research, the focus has expanded towards creating a selection of other quality products through the inclusion of high quality local ingredients and producers.

Storage Instructions

All of our cheeses are organic which means that they don’t contain any preservatives other than salt and will require storing below 5 degrees celsius. In order to enjoy your Godminster cheese at its best, allow it come up to room temperature an hour before serving to bring out all the lovely flavours.

The wax forms a natural protection around the cheddar and can be cut away as you go. Either score around the top and use it as a lid, scooping the cheese out, or cut through the wax like you would a cake. If there’s any left afterward then replace the wax as best you can, wrap it in cling film (or cheese paper if available) and refrigerate.

Click & Collect FREE - Order online and collect from our Farm Shop, You can choose to collect on a ‘specified day’ (starting approx. one week from ordering) during checkout. We will email you when your produce is ready for collection.

Local Delivery £4.95 (Free on orders over £50) - We offer local delivery for customers living in the EX1 to EX5, and EX8 to EX11 postcode areas. Choose a ‘specified day’ during checkout.  Please note: All orders to the remaining EX postcodes will be delivered using our standard national courier.

National Delivery £7.95 (Free on orders over £50) - We offer nationwide delivery. Choose a delivery date during checkout.

National Saturday Delivery £7.95 - We offer nationwide delivery on Saturdays. Choose a delivery date during checkout.

Fresh Greendale Produce - Meat and seafood will be bagged and ready to cook or freeze on delivery. All fresh meat and fish will be vacuum-packed and labelled with use-by dates and a suggested frozen shelf life. Packaging or labelling may change depending on preparation or delivery limitations. When the meat or fish has been packaged it is immediately placed in an insulated envelopes and surrounded with chilled gel-packs to keep it cool and in perfect condition.
