Greendale Proper Scrumpy Cider
Made by a master cider-maker from traditional old Devon cider press
At Greendale, we’re lucky enough to have two cider-apple orchards on our farm. It’s one of the great pleasures of autumn to get together and harvest the apples, before taking them over to the nearby village of Broadclyst. Here, we leave them in the capable hand of Keith Hoskins, a master cider-maker who uses his traditional old Devon cider press to press the apples. The resulting juice is collected and left to brew in wooden vats – no flavourings, colourings or preservatives are added, just a little bit of Keith’s cider-making magic.
The finished Scrumpy is therefore an entirely natural product. Medium-dry in taste and best served ice-cold, it is a ‘live’ product which varies between batches and will go on maturing until it is consumed, so we recommend that you drink it within two days of opening and within 14 days of purchase.
