All our Greendale Free Range eggs are hand graded by Tony our in house egg expert!
Each egg is carefully placed on the conveyor belt taking the egg over the inspection lights highlighting any issues or problems with the egg or its shell, at this point Tony can remove 99% of any cracked, Seconds or Class B eggs. The conveyor belt then moves each the egg under a food safe printer and our unique farm identification number (1UK14542) is printed onto each egg. Every egg is then placed onto a series of weighing scales which gently tips forward if the egg is heavy enough to tip the counter balance, they are then weighed and sorted into 5 different size categories; Pullet (under 43g), Small (43-53g), Medium (53-63g), Large (63g-73g), XLarge (73g-80g) and Jumbo (over 80g)
