
Greendale Rum Banana Smoothie
One for the grownups, this is not a ‘virtuous’ smoothie (though you could try arguing that the bananas count towards your ‘five a day’!). Cool and delicious with a sweetly spicy kick, it’s perfect at the end of a long, hot day. Serves 2.
Ingredients
2 small, ripe bananas, peeled and cut into chunks
4 tbsp Greendale Spiced Honey Rum
2 large scoops Vanilla Ice Cream
200ml Milk of your choice
Optional: 2 tsps Runny Honey or Maple Syrup
Method
Put all the ingredients into a blender and blitz until smooth – you may have to scrape down the sides of the bowl with a spatula a couple of times. Check you are happy with the taste, adding honey or maple syrup if you’d like a little extra sweetness. Place 3-4 ice cubes at the bottom of two tall glasses, then pour over the smoothie and enjoy.
