Seafood Burger Ideas

Fish can be used to make any number of terrific, tasty burgers, whether cooked simply (there’s nothing quite like a grilled Salmon Fillet and lemon-mayo baguette) or used at the heart of a burger recipe. At Greendale Farm Shop there’s always a wide choice of fresh seafood available – much of it caught by the Greendale fishing fleet in Westcountry waters – so you can be sure to find all you need to create your own beautiful burgers. Here are two ideas to get you started:

POLLOCK BURGER

A more sustainable alternative to Cod (they are both members of the same fish family), Pollock has flavoursome, flaky white flesh, and comes from the waters off the Devon and Cornwall coastline. These quick and easy burgers are perfect for a family meal any night of the week.

About Pollock: Fresh from the waters off the Devon and Cornwall coast, Pollock is a member of the Cod family, with firm white flesh and a very tasty flavour.

CRAB PATTIES

Perhaps not quite the same as the Patties loved by a certain undersea-pineapple-dwelling children’s character (though you can always tell your kids he sent the recipe, if it helps!), these delicious little burgers make a lovely, light summer lunch.

About our crab:  Whole Crab, cleaned and cooked after being landed by The Becci of Ladram, one of our own boats. Cracking a whole crab may be something of a labour of love, but the delicious brown and white meat is a reward well worth waiting for!
