WHY WE GROW MAIZE

We grow Maize here on Greendale's farm for stock feed and to power our 1.3MW anaerobic digestion (AD) plant. The AD plant processes farm crops and livestock manure into biogas and bio fertiliser. The biogas is then used to produce electricity for the our Farm Shop, while the bio fertiliser is used on the farm land in place of fossil fuel-derived fertilisers.
