One Easter, Betty the Adventuring Granny hops in her choccy rocket to visit her beatboxing bunny budder Cinder. But just as she is about to touch down on Cinder’s totally- toffee planet, her rocket malfunctions. Cinder hops to the rescue, tossing a rope up to Betty and tying the other end to a giant pile of Easter eggs. Betty slides down the rope and the pair spend the afternoon watching shooting stars and sipping hot chocolate. When the time comes for Betty to shoot off, the two load up her rocket with enough eggs to take back to everyone on Earth. It’s a choccy miracle, just in time for a delicious Easter celebration! Each of these Easter Eggs is made in our dedicated, free-from UK factories, so you can be sure that each egg is completely dairy free, gluten free, soya free and suitable for lactose free, vegetarians and vegans. Moo Free was founded in May 2010 by Andrea & Mike Jessop. Andrea is gluten intolerant and Mike lactose intolerant. After first selling chocolates online, plus Andrea’s son having a dairy allergy himself, they were made aware of the difficulty parents face trying to find Dairy-Free Easter eggs and Advent calendars. Feeling reckless one day, they decided to have a go making some themselves. Over the next few years the recipe was tweaked and volunteers were forced to try dozens of samples until, finally in May 2010 Moo Free was officially born. They chose to go down the organic route - as that was their preference in their own life - and use organic cocoa that hails from organic farms in the San Francisco de Macoris area of the tropical Dominican Republic. To provide another, lower price point they also started using UTZ/Rainforest Alliance cocoa from Africa for their everyday chocolate. This means when you buy Moo-Free chocolate you will not only get a great tasting chocolate, but you are helping to support their ethics, the environment and the people along the journey of the cocoa. They underwent a rebrand in 2020 to ‘look more grown up’ but their mission has remained the same: create great tasting free-from, vegan chocolate, ethically source the highest quality ingredients and sustainable packaging, provide an inclusive environment, giving real opportunities to people who need them and to always act in a humane way.
