Bacon-Wrapped Sausage Balls Recipe
The perfect side-dish for a traditional Turkey roast, these delicious little sausage-meat balls can be made in advance and refrigerated, then cooked alongside roast veg while the Turkey is resting.
Makes 16 small balls.
Ingredients
450g Sausage Meat
4 leaves of Sage, finely chopped
1 large sprig of Thyme (leaves only), chopped
150g fresh Breadcrumbs
1 Egg, beaten
Salt and Pepper, to taste
16 rashers Streaky Bacon
Method
Preheat the oven to 200°C (Gas Mark 6) and lightly grease a baking sheet. Put the sausage meat into a large bowl with the sage, thyme, breadcrumbs and egg, add salt and pepper to your preference, then mix together until well combined. Divide the mixture into 16 evenly-sized pieces, then roll each piece into a ball and wrap a rasher of bacon around it, before placing on the baking sheet.
Cook the balls in the hot oven for 30 minutes, then serve and enjoy!
