Origins

Greendale lamb is supplied by David Lockwood, who farms in nearby Aylesbeare. After enjoying the rich grazing pastures of East Devon, the lambs are carefully selected when they reach the correct weight; they are slaughtered at a local abattoir to keep stress to a minimum. Hung for a minimum of ten days, the meat becomes even more flavoursome and tender. Our master butchers then prepare it on_site at Greendale Farm Shop, skilfully turning it into plump chops, classic roasts, burgers, meatballs and much, much more.

Butcher's Tips

Lamb chops are thought by many to be best served medium_rare. If you agree, these double loin chops will fit the bill perfectly, as they can be grilled or pan_fried to a tee in moments, without losing their juicy pink middle!

How to Cook

Simply brush with a little oil and season to taste, then pop under the grill or pan fry over a medium_high heat for about 3_4 minutes per side. Remove the chops from the heat and rest them for five minutes, then serve and enjoy!

Fresh Greendale Produce - Meat and seafood will be bagged and ready to cook or freeze on delivery. All fresh meat and fish will be vacuum-packed and labelled with use-by dates and a suggested frozen shelf life. Packaging or labelling may change depending on preparation or delivery limitations. When the meat or fish has been packaged it is immediately placed in an insulated envelopes and surrounded with chilled gel-packs to keep it cool and in perfect condition.
