Greendale Pheasant is either shot on Greendale farmland or bought from a local supplier near Crediton, Devon.

Butcher's Tips

The majority of the meat on a whole pheasant comes from the breast. The meat is pale, lean and firm, with a subtler flavour than other varieties of game, such as venison.

How to Cook

Preheat your oven to 220°C/Gas Mark 7. Place the Pheasant in a roasting tin. Pheasant meat is quite lean, so to prevent it drying out during cooking, it’s a good idea to cover the bird with a layer of fat-rich bacon (such as Pancetta) before it goes into the oven. Place the Pheasant in the centre of the hot oven for 50 minutes, and baste frequently during cooking. Check the Pheasant is cooked through by piercing it with a sharp knife or skewer; any juices should run clear, and there should be no pink meat. When cooked, remove the bird from the oven and leave it to rest in a warm place for at least 10 minutes before carving.

Saturday & Sunday Delivery £10.00 - You can also choose to have your items delivered on Saturday or Sunday.  

Fresh Greendale Produce - Meat and seafood will be bagged and ready to cook or freeze on delivery. All fresh meat and fish will be vacuum-packed and labelled with use-by dates and a suggested frozen shelf life. Packaging or labelling may change depending on preparation or delivery limitations. When the meat or fish has been packaged it is immediately placed in an insulated envelopes and surrounded with chilled gel-packs to keep it cool and in perfect condition.
