Pebblebed Devon Red Wine

Pebblebed Red is made only in good years, such as 2013, and only in limited quantities. A blend of Pinot Noir Precoce provides the structure of the wine and Rondo grapes provide depth of fruit. A perfect aperitif red, it’s also ideal for those who like a lighter, healthier red with lower alcohol levels. In 2014, Pebblebed Red scooped a bronze award in the prestigious South West Wine Awards. "Pebblebed started as a community project in 1999, when 11 local families - under the direction of Geoff Bowen - came together to plant the first half-acre of vines in an idyllic setting just to the South of Exeter in Devon. From these beginnings, Geoff and his wife Anna quickly realised their passion for viticulture, and with considerable help from the community and local farmers, Pebblebed has grown to more than 20 acres of vineyards and a modern winery. In a good year, close to 50,000 bottles of wine are produced, both sparkling and still, and the company regularly wins medals and awards in local and national competitions. English sparkling wine is now widely recognised as some of the best in the world, and tastings have shown Pebblebed Sparkling to be amongst the best in England.
