DEVON BLUE BURGER

Greendale Beef Burgers are made from prime, lean Greendale beef. Whether you choose a 3oz, 6oz or half-pound burger, you’ll want to do it justice with a soft, fresh burger bun and a topping that will bring out the very best in every bite. We like to make a ‘Devon Blue Burger’; cook the burger on both sides first, then place a rich, crumbly slice of Devon Blue Cheese on top and allow it to melt slightly, before popping the burger into a bun with some peppery rocket leaves.

BEEF BURGER WITH HORSERADISH

For a topping with a little more heat, stir a scant teaspoon of Greendale Creamed Horseradish Sauce into two tablespoons of your favourite mayonnaise, then use the mixture to ‘butter’ your burger bun – put the cooked burger into the bun, together with some chunky sliced tomato and salad leaves, and serve with any leftover Horseradish Mayo so more can be dolloped on if wished.

LAMB BURGER TOPPINGS

Our Lamb Burgers are hand-made by the Greendale Farm Shop butchers, using quality lean meat from our own Devon-pastured animals. We like to pair these burgers with bright flavours, to enhance the juicy, tasty meat, and often serve them in a pitta pocket or wrapped in a flatbread instead of a burger bun. Mint has long been a perfect partner for lamb, and you can use it to give your meal a summery twist by preparing a quick, easy salsa while your Lamb Burger cooks; chop half a small red onion and one large tomato into small dice, add them to a bowl, then mix together with half a tablespoon of olive oil, a dash of red wine vinegar and six snipped mint leaves. Season to taste with salt and pepper, then put your cooked Lamb Burger into a pitta bread or bap and pile on the salsa to serve.

PORK AND APPLE BURGER TOPPINGS

Made with Greendale pork, our Pork and Apple Burgers are freshly prepared by the butchers at Greendale Farm Shop. Delicious as they are, a carefully chosen topping will enhance them even further. For a tangy, creamy mayo with an extra apple-y boost, swirl a generous teaspoon of Greendale Apple Sauce through a tablespoon of your favourite mayonnaise, then stir in some finely chopped flat-leaved parsley. When your burger is ready, put it into bun with a good blob of the apple mayo and top with salad leaves and thinly sliced cucumber.
